Research Scientist, Cell Biologist
We are currently recruiting for the position of Research Scientist, Cell Biologist to manage and conduct cell/tissue culture experiments and biological assays, in order to facilitate the early evaluation of NeoStrata's emerging, patented technologies. The right candidate must have experience working with human cell lines and the ability to perform various biological assays including ELISA. We are looking for a highly independent, detail-oriented, organized, and energetic candidate with the ability to multitask and work on different types of projects simultaneously, with direction from key R&D colleagues.
Operate a safe and compliant cell culture laboratory
Conduct leading research into the cause and cures for various skin diseases and conditions
Adapt methodology to evaluate normal, aged and/or diseased skin phenotypes
Develop new methodology to advance current screening techniques used in the field of dermatology
Propose mechanisms relevant for selected disease states and identify appropriate assays, biomarkers, and analytical tools to test for targets of therapeutic intervention
Conduct experiments to determine the effect of potential ingredients in such bioassays
Utilize cutting-edge tools internally and through external collaboration to measure total protein, enriched glycoproteins using a variety of techniques including proteomics analysis and structure-function protein studies for biomarker
Support NeoStrata's global new technology development program by recommending appropriate external screening methods, analyzing in vitro results, and recommending next experimental steps
Collaborate with members in global R&D, analytical, quality control and basic research laboratories for new compound testing
Train researchers in cell culture and in vitro testing techniques
Ph.D. in a biological science with 1-2 years of post-doctoral experience required; industrial experience preferred. Or, MS with 5-7 years of relevant industrial experience
Must have detailed knowledge of cell culture, protein biochemistry in the field of skin biology; knowledge of, and experience in developing biomarkers for various diseases is highly desired
Team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills; well-organized and self-directed; able to adhere to tight timelines
Forward-thinking and creative with high ethical standards
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and oral presentation skills
Fluency in written and spoken English required
